What is it?
Digital Agriculture Week (DAW) is the leading regional forum for dialogue to promote the digital transformation of the agri-food sector in the Americas. Since its launch in 2022, it has established itself as a unique platform that brings together key stakeholders in the ecosystem, facilitating knowledge sharing, the presentation of best practices, and collaboration between the public and private sectors.

The Digital
Agriculture Week
It is an initiative led by IICA as part of its broader efforts to promote a dynamic and responsible digital transformation of agriculture across the Americas.
Through a range of actions, the Institute supports the development and strategic use of digital solutions and AI across agri-food value chains to enhance productivity, sustainability, and rural development—while preventing digital gaps and technological exclusion.

From pilot meeting to regional benchmark
Since its first edition in 2022, Digital Agriculture Week (DAW) has grown steadily, establishing itself as a leading regional platform. It brings together over 100 in-person participants and thousands of virtual attendees. The event convenes leaders from the digital innovation ecosystem to foster networking, exchange experiences through panels and working sessions, and showcase solutions through agtech pitches and high-level presentations.

Call for agtech startups
Each year an open call is launched for agtech startups interested in participating in the event in person.
Agtech startups from across the Americas are invited to apply, particularly those offering innovative technologiesfor the agri-food system and currently in the growth and scaling stages.
For this edition, the call will be open from April 29 to June 15.

Details of the call for applications
Selection
15 agtechs startups will be selected to attend the event in person, with all expenses covered. (Participation will be funded for one representative per startup – who must be a founder or C-level executive).
Jury
The selection process will be carried out by a qualified jury composed of experts from different sectors.
Presentations
During the event, agtechs will present their solutions and have the opportunity to network with a wide variety of public and private stakeholders.
5 Key Areas
For this call for proposals, special consideration will be given to digital solutions aligned with five key areas:

Technical assistance and rural extension

Food Safety and Hygiene

International trade
-
Resilience and Conservation of Natural Resources

Risk management
For these areas, solutions that concretely and demonstrably incorporate the use of AI will be especially valued.
Biotech
In addition, technological solutions in the field of biotechnology will be considered.
Results
The selection results will be announced during the first week of July . All applicants will be notified via the same email address used for submission.
Participation
Very important: Only agtechs startups originating from countries in the Americas will be considered. Agtechs that applied in previous editions are welcome to apply again (except for those previously selected as winners).
Selected startups will be linked to the Agtech Network of the Americas and will travel to Costa Rica with all expenses covered to be part of DAW (September 7–10, 2026), where participants can:
